Wordless Wednesday 26: Dog Park Date

This week’s Wordless Wednesday photos come from the recent long weekend when Moses met up with his buddy Douglas, a yellow lab, at River Park, one of Calgary’s bigger and nicer (and busier) dog parks, for some off-leash fun.

  1. A bigger dog than himself…was Moses kind of shocked? Douglas looks like a good friend πŸ™‚

  2. That looks like a terrific day at the park.

My first thought was, isn’t funny how a big dog like a Lab looks small next to a Newf….but then I saw the even bigger dog! Holy Moly!

  4. Great shots! Wow – can’t believe you met a BIGGER dog?! Love the “blooper” shot. Darn, I could have done that with my post today too! In fact, I have a very similar shot! Might have to steal that idea for next time. πŸ˜‰

Moses and Alma are big… but they’re dense. My parents’ collie is as tall as Alma. So when I see a truly tall dog like a Great Dane or Wolfhound, I am always impressed. Moses may still weigh more, but they seem to take up so much more space! That’s when I get a taste of how other people must feel when they see Mo and Al πŸ™‚

Since I only ever see Newfies in pictures (thank goodness people accept that this is a terrible climate for them), I forget just how big they are. Until you see one standing next to a Labrador. That bigger dog must be enormous.

Glad to see that Moses is still loving the dog park after his altercation last week. I hope your arm is healed?

    • ThatJenK says:

      Almost healed!
Moses is much better at forgiveness than I – by the time we got home that day, he’d forgot all about Cujo while I was still fuming. Love the way dogs don’t hold grudges!

  6. Wow! That dog is BIG! But it looks like everyone had a great time!
    Happy WW,

  7. Jodi says:

I thought Newfies were big, that’s a really big dog!!

  8. Paula says:

Excellent post! loved the photos, play date story, and especially the blooper! πŸ™‚ happy ww.

Reblogged this on touch of home and commented:
Love this post. It has a blooper real. I love bloopers! πŸ™‚

  10. Nailah Bone says:

Wow, look at all that snow! I’m assuming Moses likes the nice cold weather. Love that little bonus at the end πŸ™‚

  11. What a fun play date! They look like great buddies : )

  12. Robin says:

Great looking group of dogs! I wish I enjoyed the snow that much. They appear to be having a blast. πŸ™‚

  13. That dog park has lovely views and blooper pictures are fun πŸ˜‰

  14. It’s so weird to see a dog park full of snow! At least for us Californians. IT did however start to rain today here.

  15. Kroten says:

    Whoooaaa look at the fun

  16. It’s funny to see Moses with a dog that is bigger than him! Looks like everyone had fun, stay warm!

  17. How did Moses take meeting a dog bigger than him?

    • ThatJenK says:

Moses is excited to see every dog almost equally, but because little dogs are often a little taken aback with his size, greetings with bigger dogs typically go much smoother πŸ™‚ Though if the little dog is cool with him, those go well, too.

  18. Looks like a fun day. That’s a gorgeous park!!! It’s so clean and looks HUGE!

  19. Like everyone else, we loved the scale pictures of Moses with Douglas and then Moses with the Saint Bernard.

I’d love to see them put into a short animation. πŸ™‚

    Great pictures, even the blooper!

  21. snoopys@snoopysdogblog says:

Love your blooper real, great idea! Can’t believe you met an even bigger dog, I was just thinking how big you look compared to the little doggies!

    I hope you’re having a fun day,

    Your pal Snoopy πŸ™‚

Doug looks like a fun friend to have. What was he doing in that last pic?
